A Clueless sequel series is no longer moving forward at Peacock.
The project, however, is reportedly still alive.
Original star Alicia Silverstone is set to reprise her role.
The Clueless sequel series is now network-less.
A year after news broke that Peacock was developing a Clueless follow-up with Alicia Silverstone, the streamer has opted to not move forward with the project, EW has confirmed.
According to Variety, which first reported the news, CBS Studios and Paramount will shop the series elsewhere and expect to garner further interest.

Silverstone has been attached to executive produce and reprise her role of Cher Horowitz from the iconic 1995 film. Original writer-director Amy Heckerling is also set to produce, while Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are on board as the show's writers.
"I think we're going to try really hard. The goal is to make it honor what everyone loves about Clueless and Cher," Silverstone said last year. "So we want to honor that, but also bring something fresh and new to it. I'm confident that we'll be able to do that, but we're in baby stages right now."

Loosely adapted from the Jane Austen novel Emma, Clueless starred Silverstone as Cher, a stylishly popular Beverly Hills teenager. The peak-'90s cast also included Brittany Murphy, Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, Breckin Meyer, Jeremy Sisto, and Paul Rudd.
While Dash and Faison went on to star in the sitcom adaptation of the same name, which ran from 1996 to 1999, Rachel Blanchard stepped in for Silverstone as Cher.
In 2019, plans were announced for an "Adderall-fueled" reboot that focused on Cher's best friend Dionne (previously played by Dash) rising to the top of the high school hierarchy after the disappearance of Cher. But that project never came to fruition.
