- The professional dancer explained that he'd "been dealing with a little problem in my elbow for a while and then a few shows ago I was doing a little thing and it just went south."
- He also expressed his hope to return to the stage for *Dancing With the Stars* Con, which is set to be held in July.
*Dancing With the Stars*’ Brandon Armstrong is leaving the show’s live tour early due to an injury.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the 31-year-old professional dancer announced that he would be departing the tour roughly two weeks early after breaking a bone in his elbow.
“No easy way to say this and, honestly, I’m super bummed but you can tell I’m hurt,” Armstrong, who was sporting an arm sling, began. “I’ve been dealing with a little problem in my elbow for a while and then a few shows ago I was doing a little thing and it just went south.”

He continued, “Long story short: I have a broken elbow. I broke a bone in my elbow. Could be a lot worse, could obviously be a lot better.”
Armstrong explained that he spoke with a doctor and the health team on tour, both of which recommended that he return home to figure out the best recovery plan for the injury.

“I remember when I was first on the show, I didn’t get the opportunity to go on tour,” he said. “And I saw my friends going out and performing live, but really getting to meet you guys every night, and I wanted that so bad. I wanted to be able to meet you guys and interact with you.”
The reality star added, "So me not being able to finish this tour — especially when we’re so close — it’s so hard for me to accept that. I’m gonna miss that. I’m gonna miss you guys. And I think that’s what’s the hardest thing for me.”

The live tour — which has featured performances from season 34 stars Robert Irwin, Dylan Efron, Jordan Chiles, Elaine Hendrix, and more — is set to conclude with a performance at the Akron Civic Center in Ohio on May 13.
Thankfully, Armstrong has found a silver lining when it comes to the injury.
“The good news is me going home a little bit early is going to allow me to get healthy sooner,” he noted. “Because at the end of the summer, I cannot wait to come out and see you guys at [*DWTS*] Con. I can’t wait to come out there, dance for you guys.”
*Dancing With the Stars *Con is set to be held in Palm Springs, Calif., from July 31 until Aug. 2. Armstrong concluded his announcement by thanking his followers for all of their well wishes, prayers, and thoughts as he begins his recovery journey.
He also received a whole lotta love from his fellow *Dancing With the Stars* pals in the post’s comment section, including Lindsay Arnold, Emma Slater, Gleb Savchenko, and Britt Stewart.
“I’m gonna miss you,” Ezra Sosa wrote, while Alan Bersten added, “Love you B.”
The official *Dancing With the Stars* Instagram account also commented, “Get well soon!”
