Some fans are lauding Superman star David Corenswet as a real-life superhero after the actor was caught fending off a photographer on costar Milly Alcock's behalf at the 'Supergirl' premiere on Monday.
"Superman protecting his cousin like usual," one X user quipped of Corenswet's move resembling one his onscreen persona, Clark Kent/Superman, might make for Alcock's Kara Zor-El (a.k.a. Supergirl).
The duo will bring their super-powered cousins to the big screen when Supergirl flies into theaters on June 26.
Not all heroes wear capes — sometimes they wear tan Dunhill suits.
Fans are lauding Superman star David Corenswet as a real-life superhero after the actor was caught on camera seemingly protecting costar Milly Alcock from a persistent photographer during the Supergirl world premiere on Monday.
The incident has gone viral online thanks to a clip shared on social media that shows the moment Corenswet appears to step in to snap at the photographer for touching Alcock without her permission. In the short clip, Corenswet is chatting with Alcock and Superman costars Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult when the keen photographer, seemingly wanting to get a shot, places his hand on the Supergirl star's back to get her attention.
Corenswet breaks away from the conversation to exchange words with the photographer, moving closer to Alcock's side and gesturing at the crowd around them in what appears to be agitation. The foursome resume their conversation shortly thereafter.

Unsurprisingly, the clip has made its rounds on social media, with the original poster on X captioning their post: "Why tf would you put your hands on an actress at their movie premiere as a photographer?"
"Superman protecting his cousin like usual," one user quipped of Corenswet's move being similar to one his onscreen persona, Clark Kent/Superman, would pull for Alcock's Kara Zor-El (a.k.a. Supergirl).
Another user wrote, "A big respect for David for stepping up like that. Photographers need to keep their hands to themselves."
"And this is what women are talking about. There is no reason for you to put your hands on her. All the other photographers got her attention without touching her," one user responded.
The moment didn't spoil the big night for Alcock or her costars, who are gearing up to release the newest DC Universe (DCU) entry on Friday.

Alcock is the latest actress to take on the Supergirl mantle, following the likes of Helen Slater, Melissa Benoist, and Sasha Calle. Alcock is part of James Gunn's makeover of the DC Universe, in which she made her debut with a cameo in the final scene of Gunn's Superman, with the drunk heroine showing up to retrieve her dog, Krypto, from her cousin, Kal-El (Corenswet).
And just like Kara came crashing into her cousin's world, he's returning the favor by crossing over into her neck of the woods for her solo film.
As Supergirl director Craig Gillespie recently shared with Entertainment Weekly, Kal-El will share an "almost older-sibling dynamic" with Kara.
"They have such different upbringings," he said. "Superman hasn't gone through trauma. He came from a very loving family and was almost groomed to be in this role, whereas Supergirl has been through trauma and the role's kind of being pushed upon her at a later age and she's having to adjust to that."
Gillespie continued, "Even though they're cousins, you get this almost older-sibling dynamic, and that can be adversarial at times. He's the gentle guy that wants to reach out and be patient, and she's having to find a way and find herself."

Inspired by the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic arc by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, the film involves a young alien girl, Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), seeking Kara's aid in bringing the one who killed her family to justice, Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts). When Krem poisons Supergirl's dog, Krypto — the last of her immediate family from Krypton — with a lethal toxin, she only has three days to retrieve the antidote, which is in Krem's possession.
Jason Momoa, who previously played Aquaman in the last iteration of the DC universe, also features prominently in the role of Lobo, a heavy-metal, motorcycle-riding intergalactic bounty hunter.
