Hayden Panettiere died days before her 37th birthday.
The actress reportedly planned to go visit her daughter Kaya, 11, to celebrate.
“She was so excited to see her and was telling everyone how much she was looking forward to spending time with her,” a source close to Panettiere said.
More details about Hayden Panettiere’s plans to visit her daughter have emerged three days after the actress’s untimely death. Panettiere, whose 37th birthday was August 21, reportedly intended to celebrate by reuniting with 11-year-old Kaya in Europe, where she currently lives with her father.
“She was planning on spending the week of her birthday visiting her daughter in Germany,” a source told Page Six on August 19. “She was so excited to see her and was telling everyone how much she was looking forward to spending time with her.”

These plans had apparently been in the works for some time, as Panettiere’s friend, Erick Orellana, recalled to Page Six this week.
“I last saw her a few months ago,” Orellana, who was also Panettiere’s hairstylist, said. “She was talking about how she wanted to take a vacation, and that she wanted to go and see her daughter. Her daughter was always her absolute priority. She loved her so much.”

Panettiere “loved spending time” with Kaya, according to Orellana. “Her daughter was the absolute light of her life,” he said. “She lit up when she spoke about her. Everything she did revolved around her.”

Of the Heroes star’s death, Orellana added: “I can’t imagine that this is anything but accidental because she just loved her daughter and would never have left her.”
Kaya has lived in Ukraine with her father and Panettiere’s ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, since 2018.

On August 17, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed the completion of Panettiere’s autopsy.
“At autopsy no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death,” coroner Mike Ellis said in a statement obtained by People. “The cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies. This investigation remains active and ongoing. No further details are available for release at this time.”
