Jefferies starred as mother Jolene Barnes, to Panettiereās rising country star Juliette Barnes on the ABC series, which premiered in 2012 and followed the lives and careers of country music stars in Music City.
āIāve had to take the day to let the idea that Hayden is not with us, wash over me. I shoot straight from the hip,ā she wrote, before candidly discussing working alongside Panettiere.
āAt times, Hayden was not easy to be around. I remember calling her a downright tornado. But she was our tornado. The sun that appears, the light mist that begins, the rain that gets heavier, the swirling of everything around her, and then the gentle tapering rain returns, along with the calm and sun and light in her eyes, and the giggle in her voice.ā
āShe had an incredibly bright future ahead of her, although her inner demons were at times too much to bear.ā

āI pause as I reflect on her, looking at photos, remembering scenes, listening to voicemails, and remembering the first time she called me āMamaā while she shared stories of her youth,ā she wrote. āWe seemed far apart, but we were very close in our hearts. Our birthdays even being one week apart. 20years (!) and one week apart.ā
Jefferies shared that the pair recently reconnected after she read Panettiereās memoir,Ā This Is Me: A Reckoning,Ā and that they had made plans to reunite and attendĀ their costar Charles Estenās concert on Aug. 14.

What a great gift it was to act with her, sing with her, and to just be her friend.ā
He concluded: āShe was always extremely kind to my family, especially my wife, Patty, who Iām certain she liked even more than me. Together, we are heartbroken that she is gone, and praying for her family, and for all those who, like us, will miss and mourn her so dearly. God bless you, Hayden. Rest In Peace and Light ā¤ļø.ā
