- Jenny Mollen says she and Jason Biggs' relationship is "still romantic" after their split.

- She credits their coparenting relationship for allowing them to remain "teammates."

- The pair announced their separation after 18 years of marriage in May.

Jenny Mollen and Jason Biggs are trying to keep their divorce romantic.

During a chat with Amanda Hirsch on the *Not Skinny But Not Fat* podcast Tuesday, the actress insisted she and Biggs' relationship is still very much about love, despite their recent separation.

"I'm single for the first time in 18 years — like, what is my life?" Mollen, 47, said when asked about the breakup. "It's really bizarre, because, well, also you have kids with somebody, right? So people will be like, 'Oh, you know, how does it feel?' And I'm like, 'I don't know, like, the same?' We live in two different places, but we're still tethered. We have kids," she continued of sons Lazlo, 8, and Sid, 12.

"We still talk 18 times a day about everyone's schedule, and after school, and holidays. And still there is this element of it isn't like a normal breakup, where you're like, 'See ya,' and then maybe we'll bump into each other in 10 years and talk about it. It's not like that."

When Hirsch suggested it's just the end of the "romantic part" of the relationship, Mollen insisted that's not the case for her and Biggs, who announced their split in May after 18 years of marriage.

"It's still, like, romantic," Mollen said. "I mean, it's still, we still love each other. It's just not... I don't know. It's a different type of romance. It's like your best friend."

Mollen and Biggs met on the set of *My Best Friend's Girl* in 2007, and got engaged and married in 2008.

Amid their split, a rep for the couple told ** that they remain on "great terms" and "focused" on coparenting Lazlo and Sid. Mollen confirmed that point to Hirsch.

"We love each other and it is a solid relationship," the *City of Likes* author said. "We have always been amazing coparents and teammates. It's just, you know, I don't know. I mean, you're married, you understand. It's f---ing hard."

Mollen also explained that it's been difficult dealing with fan reaction to their breakup, as a lot of people seemed surprised by the news.

"That's the weirdest thing about going through something like this, and when you've been like in a public relationship," she said of her followers sharing their takes on the divorce. "It's not like a death where people just write you or they're like, 'I'm so sorry, do you need anything?' It's more like somebody's attending your wedding and you have to take care of everybody else. You're like, 'Are you okay? Can I get you a drink?' You know? People are like, 'I don't know how to feel, *I'm so sad*.' And I'm just writing like, 'I don't know you. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for *your* loss. I'm so deeply sorry.'"

Biggs has not publicly commented on his and Mollen's separation. It appears, however, that they're very much connected as the pair were recently together with family for Biggs' 48th birthday on May 12.

"I have no doubt that they will remain on excellent terms," a source told PEOPLE.
