- Jimmy Fallon is sharing his theory on where Melania Trump is currently hanging out.

- The first lady hasn’t been seen in more than 29 days.

- Fallon, in turn, joked that she “ran off with Mitch McConnell,” who has also not been seen in several months.

Jimmy Fallon has an idea of where Melania Trump may be after a recent report revealed that the first lady hasn’t been made any public appearances with her husband Donald Trump in almost a month.

During Monday’s episode of *The Tonight Show*, the 51-year-old comedian joked that Melania must have “ran off” with another absent political figure: Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell.

“Over the weekend, President Trump made a campaign stop in Long Island and Melania Trump did not travel with him,” Fallon said. “Yeah, people have noticed she’s been laying low. In fact, she hasn’t been seen in public for 29 days.”

While that may be a surprising amount of time for some, the late-night host teased that it wasn’t for others. He added, “Trump heard and was like, ‘Big deal. I haven’t seen her in private for two years.’”

Fallon went on to note that he understands Melania “is taking a step back with everything going on” politically right now. “She’s worried that at any moment she could be trapped with Trump inside her catering truck,” he joked, referencing the president recently hiding in the vehicle as part of a ploy to escape an assassination threat from Iran.

“You never know! All I know is that it’s going to be crazy when we find out she ran off with Mitch McConnell,” Fallon added. “That’s all. I just... That’s gonna be bizarre.”

Last week, The Daily Beast published a report that revealed Melania has only been seen in public 38 times this year, with her most recent appearance being the FIFA World Cup final with her husband on July 19. Since then, Melania has missed several important political events, including Sen. Lindsey Graham’s funeral.

McConnell has been similarly out of the public eye since he was hospitalized in June after suffering a fall and a bout of pneumonia. Earlier this month, the senator said in a statement that he’d been discharged from a rehabilitation facility and will now work from home as he recovers.

On Sunday, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear told *Face the Nation* that he’s heard “absolutely nothing back” from McConnell about his health, per CBS News. While the governor expressed his hope that McConnell is “getting better,” Beshear also pointed out that “this is why the Senate — the Republican-controlled Senate — feels so broken.”

He continued, “All he needs to do is call into this show for two minutes, or Fox News for two minutes, or do a video for two minutes to the people he’s supposed to serve. But you know what? He absolutely refuses to do it.”
