Princess Beatrice attended Paddy McNally’s funeral on August 13.

McNally, a former Formula One executive, dated her mother, Sarah Ferguson, from 1982 to 1985.

Beatrice stepped in for Ferguson, who did not attend the intimate ceremony.

According to People, Beatrice, 38, served as a representative for Ferguson, 66, who did not attend. The outlet noted that the princess also attended the intimate ceremony “in her own right.”

It has been reported that the former Duchess of York, who was evicted from Royal Lodge in January as a result of her and her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein, has allegedly been living at McNally’s eight-bedroom chalet in Verbier, Switzerland. The pair had reportedly remained close friends after their split.

A close source spoke with The Sun about their decades-long friendship.

“Paddy always looked after Sarah, and at times over the past four decades she needed a lot of looking after,” the insider said. “He never abandoned her in life and even in his final days allowed her safe sanctuary at his home in Verbier.”

The Sun also claimed that the former Formula One executive may have made arrangements so that Ferguson will not “end up penniless” following her estrangement from the royal family.

News of Ferguson’s reported living arrangements came shortly after a friend spoke to People about her personal life.

“Sarah is keeping a low profile,” the friend said on July 23. “She’s staying in contact with her daughters and is awaiting the news of [her younger daughter] Eugenie’s baby.” Princess Eugenie, 36, later welcomed her baby girl on August 3.

The mother of two has largely remained out of the public eye amid the ongoing controversy surrounding her and her ex-husband, ex-Prince Andrew.

Although Ferguson has not been accused of any wrongdoing, U.S. Rep. Suhas Subramanyam formally requested that she testify regarding her “close personal and business ties,” per a report from the BBC. She also corresponded with Epstein via email often and referred to him as “a great friend,” according to CNN.
