Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have returned to the U.K. with their children to live close to the royal family, after spending years in California. However, as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet await their enrollment in U.K. schools, reports suggest that sides are being taken within the royal family.
While King Charles III reunited with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Queen Camilla is reportedly siding with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Royal Expert Speaks of ‘Two Competing Courts’ Amid Prince Harry’s U.K. Return
According to royal expert Andrew Lownie’s interview with the Daily Mail, as Prince Harry returns to the U.K. with his wife Meghan Markle and their kids, the royal family is reportedly taking sides.
Lownie described Prince William and his brother as “two competing courts” within the family, and revealed, “the Queen, who is very close to Kate, has been stiffening the resolve of the King to establish clear boundaries for [the Sussexes].”
The royal expert suggests that while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are back in the U.K., they won’t get the “half in, half out” version of royal life, like they previously wished. Instead, they will have to follow “clear boundaries.”
Meanwhile, Lownie also alleged that the Queen’s hesitation towards the Sussexes might be because of Prince Harry’s revelations about his stepmother, in his memoir, Spare, in which he wrote that he didn’t want King Charles to marry the 79-year-old.
“I had complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who, I believed, had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar… In a funny way I even wanted Camilla to be happy. Maybe she’d be less dangerous if she was happy?” he wrote.

Queen Camilla Reportedly Fuming at Prince William Over Prince Harry Feud
However, amid Andrew Lownie’s comments that Queen Camilla favors Prince William and Kate Middleton over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, reports suggest that she has been fuming at the future king over unfulfilled royal demand.
According to a report from National Examiner, the Queen was reportedly upset with the Prince of Wales because she wanted him to make peace with the Sussexes, because she “knows better than anyone” how important the matter is to the King.
But since the Prince and Princess of Wales have refused to reconcile with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the ongoing feud became “very bothersome” for the King. This led the Queen to express her frustration with the future monarch.
Sources claimed, “Right now, the Firm has never been more divided.” While Prince William reportedly viewed the Sussex reunion as “total madness,” the insider alleged that more aides were “slowly migrating to the king’s viewpoint.”
