MacLaine, 92, appeared in an Instagram video in support of New York’s Southampton Playhouse. The theater is showing Bob Fosse’s musical comedy-drama during their “Tuesday Tunes” series on Aug. 25.

“Hi, Southampton Playhouse. Wish I could be with you, I would like to see *Sweet Charity* again,” MacLaine said in the clip. “Now, while you’re watching it, remember how hard we worked. And, between you and me, it didn’t do very well. So, I hope you guys like it! Much love.”

MacLaine sent a kiss out to viewers before the playhouse shared, “Shirley MacLaine in Bob Fosse’s Sweet Charity.”

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Shelby Coleman, the widow of the film’s composer Cy Coleman, who earned an Oscar nomination for his score.

“Bob Fosse’s first film was adapted from a Fellini film and transformed into a dazzling cinematic musical experience,” Southhampton Playhouse shared on Instagram. “Cy Coleman received his first and only Oscar nomination for his music on the film. His widow, Shelby Coleman, will join us after the film for a personal window into her husband’s career. Close out the summer with this very special edition of our Tuesday Tunes series!”

MacLaine has kept a low profile since appearing in the film* American Dreamer* and as a guest star on season 2 of *Only Murders in the Buildin**g* in 2022.

She will reportedly appear in the upcoming indie drama *People Not Places**,* alongside Stephen Dorff. The synopsis reads, “A sprightly woman in her twilight years strikes up an unlikely friendship with a local homeless man, while struggling to mend a troubled relationship with her son.”

“[Shirley] was just absolutely incredible,” Jim Zauner, executive director of assisted living home The Shores, told *Press of Atlantic City*. “Her energy level (and) professionalism of hitting every line at every time, whether it was at 3 in the afternoon or 3 in the morning, was spot on.”
