Taylor Swift praised Phoebe Bridgers’ new album as a “gift” as she wished her a happy birthday

Bridgers’ third studio album Lost Weekend is out now

Taylor Swift gave Phoebe Bridgers some high praise as she wished her a happy birthday.

On a Monday, Aug. 17 Instagram Stories post, the 14-time Grammy winner shared how much she loved the indie-rock artist’s new album Lost Weekend as she celebrated Bridgers’ 32nd birthday.

“It’s her birthday but she gave us a gift,” wrote Swift, 36, who reshared Bridgers’ post about the album. “Haven’t been able to stop listening. This album is an absolute triumph in every way.”

She added, “To write about grief with such vulnerability and detail, and to trust the listener with this much honesty.”

Swift then shared her birthday wishes with Bridgers. “I love you,” she concluded.

Bridgers teamed up with Swift in 2021 for “Nothing New,” which was featured on Red (Taylor’s Version).

In a 2021 interview with Billboard, the “Lost Boys” singer called working with the “I Knew It, I Knew You” artist on the track a “dream.”

“I just am so excited to have people take it at face value the day that it comes out, because I got teary recording it. I just couldn’t be more excited,” Bridgers said at the time.

She added: “I think that she is an incredible businessperson and an incredible writer. What she’s been able to build just from writing adeptly from a young age is insane.”

Bridgers also appeared as an opener on a handful of Swift’s Eras Tour dates in 2023.

On Saturday, Aug. 15, both Swift and Bridgers attended Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk’s wedding in the U.K.

The nuptials, which took place at Peter Gabriel‘s Real World Studios outside Bath, Gloucestershire, came amid years of professional collaborations with the pair.

Sisk and Jacobs have collaborated with Swift across several of her albums. (The Grammy Award-winning couple also work closely with fellow guests Sabrina Carpenter and Jack Antonoff.)

Days before the wedding, Swift debuted a shorter hairstyle when she was spotted out in London on Wednesday, Aug. 12. At the time, she was leaving the private members-only club Annabell’s with a friend.

Meanwhile, Bridgers released her third studio album Lost Weekend on Friday, Aug. 14.
